Selling a Boxster

I know there are a number of threads on this subject in this forum but I have a question.
I am going to sell my beloved Boxster S but will wait until January/ Feb 05 and place an ad in the Sunday Times / Autocar or similar.
I have rang one of the numbers in Autocar from a buyer who wanted used Boxsters and was stunned when I rang him basically my S is a 2004 model year and registered 10/03 and has 1,500 miles on the clock, it is in Polar Silver and has every conceivable extra with the exception of Porsche Communication Managment. It cost me GBP 45K when new from an OPC but because it hasnt got Porsche Communication Managment he wasnt interested in buying it. I asked him how much he thought it was worth and was shocked when he told me GBP 30K but told me if it had Communication package it would be worth GBP 33K.
I was offered GBP 35K PX against a new Cayenne S which I still think is low as an identical example to mine in my local OPC showroom is GBP 41K.
Anyone any ideas as to who might offer me more or should I bite the bullett and take the 35K from my OPC against the Cayenne S.
Just want to add that I dont really want to get rid of the Boxster as it is an awsone car but six month old babys dont mix with 2 seaters, I did look at the new carrera but back seats are impractical for babys so a Cayenne S it will be.

Later cars will suffer most, with the new model imminent, but a well presented private sale should get you nearer £35k.

Why not keep the Boxster and spend the difference on a practical family car? It needn't be boring, there are plenty of interesting choices (new or used) for £15-20k.

I got offered more money than your offer but my deal was done in September on a 6K mile Boxster "S" that cost £41K new. James Wood 07702 911 911 from Sytner Gp was the buyer so worth giving him a ring and you never know ... Good Luck ...

My experience was that in August I was offered £30K cash by the OPC for a 2.7 which was £37K new 16 months earlier. At the time I was told it should be worth only £3K less in a year's time, so as well holding on to it.

2 months later, same buyer, same OPC - £26K was his best offer. Said it was because the new boxster came with such a high spec level as standard, so prices have taken a tumble. He did admit it was a £31K car on the forecourt - I got somewhere inbetween the 2 on a private sale. It is common for the OPC to want a £5K margin on each car.

I know it is a bitter pill to swallow but the hard facts are that what you where offered is what the car is valued at ,and will drop even further as the months go on, the price opc always add about £5 k I am possibly looking at a Boxster is yours tiptronic
