Unfortunately the credit crunch has hit me and I'm being made redundant. It is with much heart ache I'm selling my beloved 944 turbo http://forums.tipec.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1594 As you can see this used to be Toms car. She has now covered 1100000 miles and will be sold with a full years MOT. She will also come with wheels pictured in http://forums.tipec.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=34&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=180 as well as the D90's with nearly new rubber. Also with the car, but not fitted are 968 cup mirrors, Brand new 968 door handles, A new after market steering wheel and boss kit, a carbon look dash kit, a new illuminated porsche gear lever with leather gaiter from germany, aluminum speedo bezels and all the dash and control lights in blue Leds. I've also repaired and re-died the leather front seats to a very good standard and will supply 5 ltrs of the custom mixed beige die to do the rest of the interior. (Back seat, Lower dash, center console and lower door cards). I've also got another dash as mine has a few cracks and a new 4.3 dvd sat nav head unit. I'm asking for about the same money as I paid for her including the new wheels and all the above mentioned parts. Gary [:(]

Bad luck Gary - the cars do wear the miles well but I'd suggest that you'd struggle selling a car with 1.1million miles on the clock. [&:][:D][]

Bad luck. My job is also under threat and I believe that if I did lose it then the 944 would unfortunately be the first thing to go.

That's exactly my way of thinking. There's no way I'm risking loosing my house so she has to go. Ă‚ÂŁ6995 but open to offers. Hope you hang on to your job and porsche JPN

Sorry to hear that. Best of luck for a new job. Will also be made redundant in the coming days...

Really really p*****. I had another 944 2.7 a few years back that I wrote off through silly driving. I eventually found this one a few months ago and have loved every minute I've managed to take her out which has been few and far between. Completely gutted as I had big plans for her. My father has said don't be hasty as he would hep me out but I'm a stubborn old git and refuse to take money from any one. Perhaps I'm just not meant to be porsche owner. Anyway thanks for all the kind messages guys and happy driving. [;)]

Hi Gary , sorry to hear your story. I sold my 911 due to this credit crunch[] What part of the UK do you live , i still miss my old 944 and would like another for the time being at least

Hello Gary, i was thinking about sniffing around a few turbos with a view to upgrading for the summer. I have a 924s summer car at the moment which is sort of like a pensioners terrier so to speak and i've been wanting more bite for a while. I had an Audi B5 S4 Bi-Turbo a year or so back which just wouldn't stop spitting it's dummy out and i need to think old skool to get some reliability on the job. Where are you at and would you mind me coming for a nosey on the understanding that my mind's not totally made up yet? Cheers, Luke

You might want to knock the last 3 digits from the postcode. You wouldn't want just anyone coming for a look in case they decide they really want it but don't feel the need to tell you they're coming - or to pay for it.

By the boys in blue? Not yet but I keep the proper plates in the car with my camera so if I do get pulled, I'll say I'm just doing a photo shoot and forgot to change them back. Weather it works is another matter.[]

Hi Gary, sorry to hear about the job, car looks really great, like the wheels, I've got a turbo cab black, think they'd look really good, got any details? Mike

My unsolicited advice would be to steer clear of anything bigger than 17" on a cab, especially a Turbo cab with stiffer suspension than the S2. I base that advice on my personaly experience of running 18s on my S2 cab for a short time. It looked brilliant but it drove horrendously. On an unevenly surfaced corner I could still get close to my intended line, if you consider around 3 feet to be close.

Their Victor equipment Lemans, only made for porsches. Mine are 19" with no rubbing of the arches but as Fen kindly pointed out, the ride is a little on the harsh side. Then again I don't drive to fast or track the car but if I did, I've a set of the light weight 16' D90's. I suppose at the end of the day it's all a matter of preference.
