Selling turbo - put back to stock or sell modified?

After about 10 years of ownership the time has finally come for me to part with my 91 944 turbo. The big question is should I remove some of the parts I've added to it over the years before I sell it? Mainly the Promax level 2 kit and the 968 CS anti roll bars (and maybe the 968 CS 17' wheels).

Any thoughts on what it might be worth?

Spec as below.

1991 944 turbo S - Alpine white - white interior
Mileage 125,000
Quaife ATB torque sensing differential
968 CS adjustable anti roll bar
968 front brake cooling ducts
M030 brakes
Stainless steel brake lines
Spec stage 3 clutch
Spec lightweight flywheel
Koni M030 adjustable shocks
Promax stage 2 kit (DPW, 55lb injectors,3 bar FPR & chip)
Innovate Motorsports LC-1/XD-16 wideband
Knocklite Knock Detector and Combined Shift Light
Apexi AFC fuel controller
Apexi AVC boost controller
Front strut brace
Stainless steel brake lines
Genuine 17" 968 CS alloys with Toyo T1-R tyres
Original 16" wheels fitted with Pilot Cup tyres
Probably a few other things I can't remember.

It's also just had the belts done and new disks and pads.

Bad points, bodywork needs some work - I was quoted £800 to sort some rust mainly on front wheel arches. Interior good but not perfect.

That's a tricky one.
When I began looking for a turbo I was after one that had not been modified, but ended up buying one that was a bit more than lightly modified, as it was a car that I knew well along with its owner and had driven it a few times.

I would say try first to adverstise it in the circle of enthusiasts who will appreciate the upgrades accordingly, if no success take off the upgrades and sell the car in its original spec.

I'd agree with Thom and try to sell it as is in the 'circle' of enthusiasts, such as here, Tipec or Pistonheads and if that doesn't work quickly enough put it back to standard and then flog off the parts individually. I know that I'd have the 968 anti roll bars off you and am pretty sure the boost controllers and L2 kit would be snapped up. It all depends if you could get the extra bits removed cheaply as to make it worth your while in the long run
 
An interesting dilemma. The RPM car was the most recent modified turbo I remember sold, it took a long time and in no way got it's true value. I wonder if, to the people who want to improve a car in this way, actually doing the work isn't half the fun? [8|]

 
From my experience a potential buyer may want a 944/951 and is already a bit nervous about the potential cost. They are certainly knowledgeable about the cars to an extent or they wouldnt be looking for one.

However, most do not see bolt on enhancements as anything more than chavving up the car unless they are very knowledgeable and engine performance enhancements are potential put offs as they are already aware that Porkers are not cheap to run so a non standard engine is a negative for a lot of them.

EG: I sold mine with KWV3 but amazingly all potential buyers asked if I still had the original Mo30 as they saw the KW as an aftermarket lowering kit like a VX Corsa chavmobile with no percieved benefits other than lowering it. It so happens I did and I honestly believe I would have got the same price with 18 year old tired mo30 on it.
 
I guess it depends on a few factors. You may get more money by de-speccing the car and selling the bits seperately but do you want the hassle ? Joe Public may be cautious about buying a modded car but trying to sell it here for instance may prove more successful. A number of modded Turbos have sold quickly of late - Scotts being the latest example just the other week.

My own personal instinct were I selling, would be to try to sell my car as is initially and see how that went.
