You've joined the Club just in time to participate with your fellow R5 members at our new Regional Event at Arley Hall on 26 September (see below). If you cannot make it, I, along with the R5 Committee, look forward to meeting you soon at a Club Night or one of the other events we organise for you.
Next R5 Event
The next R5 event is our 8 September Club Night, at The Deanwater Hotel, starting at 2000. An increasing number of members gather about an hour earlier to eat in the hotel restaurant, so if that should suit you too please join us. (See also "Forthcoming Events" below.)
Porsches at Arley Hall - Final Update
With just less than three weeks to go, the "To Do" list still extends onto a second A4 page, but with 450 hours (!) in which to get everything done I'm sure we'll be "˜right on the night'!
Following the Club's recent purchase of various items of event equipment, amongst other things there will be loads of chairs at the refreshment centre, so you will be able to sit and chat to friends, plus a spacious marquee solely to provide protection from the sun (! - or any other sort of weather). There will also be plenty of space in the picnic area for your own gazebos and other picnicking paraphernalia.
To date we have just over a third of the cars we would like for the "60 Years of Porsches" display (shown in BOLD on the list accompanying this Newsletter), so please look at the list and contact me if you would like to display a car we are still seeking; or, for that matter, anything more exotic. Condition is not important; it's the range of models we want to display. And while you are about it, you might as well also enter the Concours (Ticket Application/Concours Entry form with this Newsletter).
We now have most of the help needed on the day, but we still need a few more people between 1000 and 1200 to help park the display cars, and it would also be reassuring to have a few people in reserve. So please let me know if you can give a hand.

To date only two members have said they will be coming to this popular, village green car show organised by the Tame Valley Vintage & Classic Car Club (TVVCCC), so if you also plan to attend please let me know - preferably by e-mail - so that I can inform the TVVCCC how much space we will need.

October 1/2 Club & GT3 Cup Challenge Champs, Silverstone
This great weekend of motor racing includes the final three rounds of the Club's two Championships, plus the welcome return of the Britcar 24-hour Race, which continues into the afternoon of October 3.

PORSCHES AT ARLEY HALL

The North West Region (R5) of the Porsche Club GB (PCGB) is this year holding a new Regional Event at Arley Hall, the home of Viscount and Lady Ashbrook. Situated approximately midway between Knutsford and Warrington, Arley Hall is readily accessible from the M6 and M56, being signposted from Junctions 19 & 9 respectively.
Combining traditional car festival features - including "˜60 years of Porsches' and Guest Club displays, an Entry Level Concours and specialist trade stands - with a range of attractions with wider appeal, "Porsches at Arley Hall" aims to provide an exciting day out for both car enthusiasts and the other members of their families. The event will start at 11.00am (gates open at 10.30am) and finish at 5.00pm, and the entry charges are adults £8.00 and children 5 to 15 £2.00 (under 5s free), inclusive of complimentary tea/coffee/soft drinks and free entry (adults ordinarily £6.00) to the Hall's award-winning gardens.
Members wishing to obtain advance-purchase tickets* or to enter the Concours are asked to complete the application form below and send it, together with a S.A.E and a cheque for the total amount due (payable to PCGB), to Barry Dolton, RO North West Region, The Dales, Dunwood Lane, Longsdon, Staffs Moorlands, ST9 9QW.
