Service Book

My previous two 992s came with service books, but the Targa I bought this year in June (18 months old) didn't have one as it was sent from the factory without one.

I want too happy and asked that they get one sent to me. Four months on and I am still waiting for mine. The Porsche Centre says that all new Porsche's are coming form the factory without them and retrospectively sending them out in batches.

I find this very odd as the service book is a visual record of work carried out and also a check to what and when servicing work needs done. i.e Brake Fluid, Inspections, recalls etc.

My wife's BMW 4 series has all the servicing information on the key and I guess this is also saved on BMW's servers.

If its now the same for Porsche's now all well and good but what happens when and if I come to sell it to a private buyer and can't supply details of service etc?

Maybe its possible to get a full print out from the PC? I'll ask when I collect it form the PC after its service tomorrow.

Just double checked - ours was delivered with a service book. It only has the delivery stamp in at the moment!

What year is your car please ? Does it have the black sticker inside?

Hi Peter, ours was delivered this year, after a looooong wait. Yes it has the black sticker in there.

I finally got the service book yesterday when I picked up the car - but its minus the black sticker from the factory. That's on back order [:(]
