Service Costs

My car was last serviced at Addspeed in November 2008 at 62K miles - it had a 24K 'type' service

Car now has nearly 71K miles and I want to have it serviced at the start of my ownership.

What can I expect to pay for a 12K or 24K service, and how do they differ ?

Ian

Depends if you do the 12K service correctly as it should include replacing all spark plugs and setting the tappets in which case 12K and 24K are similar in cost. Many places only quote for doing the spark plugs and tappets on 24K service.

This should give you an idea:

If your down south £420+v = £493.50 at Northways his 12k service is actually a 24k as whilst replacing all the plugs he also adjusts the tappets as it only adds 10 minutes or so to the job.

JZ Machtech do menu pricing for various items, if that helps?

Thanks for the replies, and it seems quite a price range - £500 to over £800. I guess some will be regional pricing, and some down to the level of work done.

Solihull OPC quoted me £750 less £75 PCGB discount so £675 all in - not bad !

Have also spoken to Tuthill who reckon on best part of a day to do plus service kit (£100 ?) plus oil so reckon on £700 there.

Ian - good point on the plugs - only every 24K if Cat (or was it none CAT).

To round this thread off I had the car serviced at Tuthills.

Difficult to get the exact cost as I had a bit of labour to fix the driver door whistle, new clips bonded to the sill fin and the aircon regassed.

Total bill was £880 inc. VAT but approx £600 plus VAT for the 24K service. And I got a free loan car.
