service due?

Guys

I bought my 06 997 around a year ago when it had around 28k miles on the clock. My OPC carried out a minor service at the time. I've now done 47k and haven't seen a warning light as I thought the car would probably be due next at 48k? I'm confused now as I've obviously done 20k miles before the 2 years.

Any advice?

Like you I'm just coming up to my first service on a 07 997. On start up the dash has been showing number of mile to service counting down in 100 mile increments and the number of days (which I think is counting down to the two years).

Servicing is every 2 years or 20K miles, whichever comes first. So if it's 4 years old or 40K miles it's due for its first major service now. Click here to get details and fixed priced costs.

Didn't you get a service & maintenance record when you bought the car?

Regards,

Clive

Mine seems to have done low mileage between the two year intervals so the services have triggered on a calendar basis. The last one was a minor at 28,100 miles about a year ago but I've got 47,100 miles on the clock now so I'm figuring 48,100 for the next one as a major? If so how many miles prior does the service warning flash up? Nothing showing as yet on my car which is why I've started to wonder!

Many Thanks

Jason

The answer is around 2000 miles before the service is due (or obviously date if that is the limiting factor). The service indicator is reset using a PIWIS so they should have done this at the last service. I would talk to them about it.

Just rang my OPC who were only to happy to help :) Actually, as I suspected, it is due at 48,515 being 20k more than the last service a year ago.

Thanks guys.
