Service History help

Hi all,

Ive had my Boxster S a few weeks now, and have requested printed copies of the S/H from the dealers. Porsche Silverstone confirmed the car had been with them since 2003, but unless they receive a written letter from the previous owner, they would not allow me copies of the work sheets. Naturally, I wrote to the previous owner but have received no reply.
So, I thought Id try my luck with Porsche Reading, who were helpful enough to say yes, if I provided my V5, which I did, but they confirm there is nothing on record for the VIN!

Anyone on e work for Porsche who could maybe try to find something on my car?!

I have no paperwork whatsoever and id love to have some, if only for resalepurposes down the line.

Thanks

Chris

If you log onto the DVLA web page you can get a MOT history check done which you can copy and paste to a Word format
so you can print it off all the need is the car reg number your car was first registered under and the make it's easy.

Reference your other enquiry sorry I don't know of anyone who can help with that matter other than try another Dealership
over Silverstone as you may get joy that way or write to the Head man at Porsche Cars GB as he maybe the better person to
get something done.

Good Luck, Yours Kevin.

Did you not ask for history when you bought the car? If Porsche have nothing recorded, that will be an issue, particularly if you try to sell privately.

I cannot understand why Porsche Silverstone are refusing to supply details - misunderstanding of the data protection act perhaps? I would try another dealer. Say you need to know when it was last serviced, is there is any scheduled work outstanding and can they confirm it has been maintained per service schedule at a Porsche dealer from new.

It didnt come with the car unfortunetrly, but a call prior to purchase to Porsche Silverstone confirned it as genuine stamps so my mind was eased

Ive tried 3 now, some say they cannot locate the car using VIN or reg number!

Hi Chris,

I had the same problem re history for my Boxster S. I contacted the supplying dealer Porsche Kendal and they asked for a signed letter from the previous owner. I just wrote to him and enclosed a pre-written letter for him to sign and a stamped addresses envelope. He sent it back, I sent it to the dealer with a new service book and they stamped it up and provided copy invoices. I would write back to the previous owner and try the method I used.

Good luck!

Chris...are you after a Service Book or do you have that and just need to get the invoices to back up the stamped service book?

If it is just the paperwork all invoices of work carried out can be copied for you but the dealer will delete any name and address shown

Chris, a lot depends on the dealer and whoever answers your query. My 968 cab was originally supplied by Porsche Guildford, they happily supplied copies of the service invoices on file/computer, and were apologetic that they could not supply anything before a certain date as those were not computerised. Equally, when I bought my MB S204 from MB Ashford (who supplied the car to the first owner, and serviced it, I was the second owner) they printed off the service invoices no problem. Conversely, MB Brentford were a PITA getting service invoices for the S203 they had supplied new and serviced, I was the second owner, after much hassle they printed the service invoices, cut off the owners contact details from the top (which was stupid as I already ahd them and nad told MB Brentfors I had them!!) and posted them to me.

They quote a load of crepe about Data Protection - but you have the previous owners info from the V5 so this is rubbish.

The only slight fun I had was with an indie that had serviced the 968 cab - but the PO called them and told them to send the service invoices to me.
