Service Schedule

Guys,

Does anyone have a service schedule for the 993TT?

Thanks to Maurice I have the normally aspirated version from the 993 forum, but does anyone have the additions for the turbo?

And the ever asked question - What oil???

If your question is as simple as it seems to sound then, 12,000 miles or twelve month intervals. And the oil of choice is generally Mobil 1. Some owners change the oil every 6,000 miles, but I dont think it needs to be. Its personal preferance.

No, not a simple as that, what I'm looking for is the additions applicable to the turbo as per the schedule under the 993 FAQ section for the non turbo.

Thanks for the info on Mobil 1 though.

I am sure I have the service schedule somewhere, there are not that many extra operations for the turbo over the N/A cars. The main ones being, spark plugs every 12k (N/A every 24k) and to check the intercooler hoses which have to be removed to change the plugs.

Thanks David.

If you find it please let me know.

Also do you have any thoughts on oil "" Valvoline perhaps?

Cheers

Martyn.

Martyn, I use Valvoline in my other cars, Synpower 5w/40 fully synthetic (changed every 6k) in the 968 and my girlfriends Merc diesel and Valvoline Racing VR1 20w/50 (changed annually or every 1k) in my Marcos racer. Its a very good product, I have used it for the last 25 yrs in my own cars and for the last few years on customers cars in the workshops. I use `000`s litres a year and have never had any lubrication issues on any vehicles that we work on or have owned.

I use Mobil 1 in the 993tt as that`s what any potential future buyer would expect you to have used and thats the only reason. Its changed at least once a year and has never done anywhere near the 12k service interval, 2-3k annually being the norm. Unfortunately, thats what the used Porsche 911 market dictates to a certain degree..

Just a short message to say a very public thank-you to Dave for your help.

Most appreciated - Thank You.

Martyn.
