Service

Oil, Yep thats Porsche service for you, however I'm sure that rather thanthe trade Costco Halfords would work out 'similar' in cost. As far as service goes, its supposed to be fixed price unless you can get a good releationship/deal with your service assistant- which I'm pleased to say I do [:)] 20k already Chris!! [;)] garyw

I can't be of much help on the differing oil prices, but just pleased to see that like myself you like actually driving your Porsche. I've done about 12k in 10 months in my own. Am I bothered it'll affect residuals? What, and to have missed all that glorious driving - not a chance in the world!

Ask the OPC if you can supply your own oil. Some will let you if its in sealed containers.

I needed a quick top up and bought a litre of Mobile1 from Halfords the other day. £16 as opposed to Costo £30 for 5 litres. Most OPC's will let you use your own oil.

Hi Gary Yes already on 20k but can't bear the car sitting in my garage just enjoy driving it dam why buy a car and not use it- my neighbour has xk8 on p plate only done 8k-good news opc wavered cost for 111 check car booked in Chris

Hi rob Don't feel so bad now about my 20k covered -any chance I get to drive my car I do got to have some pleasures in life Chris

ORIGINAL: garyw Chris, as you know I heartedly agree with your sentiments...drive and enjoy it garyw
I am with Gary on this - as some of you know I've done an average of 50k miles in each of my 3 previous Porsche's. The current one is up from purchase mileage of 1760 to approx 9k miles already They are there to be driven not just looked at.

Get them driven! Since getting mine from on OPC in March I have clocked 7000 glorious miles and us it every day. I kept my 996 as a low mileage garage queen for years and go no more for it than if it had double the mileage. To hell with residuals - use them and enjoy.
