Services how much?

On average how much should I be looking to pay for my annual service going down the official Porsche centre route?

It depends on which model you have. However, as an example, I've just had a 986 Boxster S serviced at OPC Nottingham and the base price of a "minor" service was £380.

There are however, always things which are due/recommended as part of a service but not actually included in the price. E.g. brake fluid change is recommended every two years and it's £100 extra.

Just had my 2002 manual 3.2s with 33,000 mls registered serviced by Tony at Carrera Engineering in Nazeing. Such a genuine guy showed me all around my car and told me all the pit falls that can occur with a Boxster. Done a superb service even lubricated all the boot, bonnet and door hinges, replaced filters and changed the oil. The total cost was some £225-00. I shall be going back next year,

When the car gets to "that certain age" I think it sensible to consider the independent Porsche Specialist route. I guess it depends upon your pocket depth and desire for attention to minute detail but with an OPC they do tend to be microscopic and its really up to you to ask the right questions - like precisely HOW worn are the bushes, the response I got to that one was - they are OK for another 20,000 miles...and they were right!

Locally the fixed price (ex vat) figures from SGM at Hartlebury are £185 and £330. Same prices as the Porsche Shop at Halesowen.

Just had a minor service at OPC Sheffield on the Cayman S at a cost of £428 with PCGB Discount and VAT which works out about £392 before discount and dreaded.

I stay with OPC servicing because I have a warranty otherwise would go to an indi.
