cheaper to service than my wifes bmw as its only every 2 yrs(tho i get an oil change every yr as well)and around £3-400 every 2yrs therefore.insurance much the same for me as the bmw. as for main/indi-u takes your choice.pros and cons.mine goes to jz machtech specialist but if u want to keep warranty then stick to main probably.most people in the know would be as comfortable(if not more so)with a good indi as with opc i get around 23-24 mpg average and a new set of michelin pilot s cost me £1100-should last a couple of years for my mileage good luck

Hi Guys

I am new to the forum and a potential Cayman owner, going to look at one this weekend, its a 56 plate with 18k miles in S trim and having never owned a Porsche before I wodnered what the servicing costs were like and general ownership costs. I am based in bristol so my local dealer would be Dick Lovett. Also I wonder if using a specialist rather than main dealer would be an better option?

thanks in advance

James
