Servicing around Norwich

Hi everyone. This is my first post. Where do you people who live in or around Norwich get your Porsches serviced ? Do you travel as far as Cambridge ? Was there talk of Lind opening a Porsche centre in Norwich ?

PS/ I hope I've posted this to the correct forum (R12 - Norfolk & Suffolk)

Hi i use colchester just had my wifes boxster serviced they picked up form norwich left a loan boxster and returned the following day no extra charge!

Not sure how I feel about someone having a long drive in my car. I guess they get to drive Porsches all day long and maybe won't be too demonic behind the wheel of my pride and joy !

Hi Akis.

It depends whether you want an OPC or a Specialist to do it. If your car is older than say three or four years and the service history includes a mixture of OPC's and specialists, then I'd go for specialists every time - their labour is less than half the cost and their parts are also cheaper but you tend to get the same expertise, care and attention.

I use Autowerke in Norwich. The guy's name is Matthew and he recently serived my 99 Boxster and ran all the checks through the computer/engine management that an OPC would for a fraction of the cost. He's also an ex-Lancasters boy and has been servicing Porsches for 17 years now so he knows his stuff.

Check him out. I have a 2000 996 C2 TipS and that will be going there in May. I have total confidence in his abilities.

As for an OPC opening next to Lind, I hear it'll be with us around July, but it won't make a difference to me - OPC's charge the earth and I wouldn't nexessarily go there unless my car was new.

Hope this helps.

Hi Again, it used to worry me a bit other people driving both our cars but have never had a problem,i use colchester at the moment for servicing just to keep the opc history both my wifes and my car are only 2 years old so i think this is still important.
I have purchased a car and used matthew at autowerke in the past and found him very honest and well priced,i have also used mike at M sport on heigham street i would also recomend him.
.

Thanks all. My car is two years old in Sept and will need to be serviced and have a few bits done under warranty before then, so it will have to be an OPC. Sounds like Colchester as Lind will be just up and running; and therefore may have a learning curve to go through ?

I use Colchester. Usually choose a day when I am working in London - they give me a lift to the station in the morning and back to OPC in the evening. Works well. They've driven my car home twice - no problems and very careful courteous drivers. My car now 4 years old - for any non-warranty, non-regular service work in future (I have Porsche extended warranty) I may try one of the locals recommended above.
