Servicing Costs?

I'm about to arrange a service for my 1990 Carrera 4 and wondered if folks here might be able to give me some idea of how much a service might cost please? From an independent or, indeed, an OPC.

It's recently had an oil and filter change; new brake fluid when the brakes were stripped and rebuilt so I won't have that to factor in to the price - any thoughts (as ever) would be very welcome.

Colin,

I can't help you with specific garages - you're a bit far North for me - but I'm sure you can get a feel for the prices involved from a lot of the web sites. I know the likes of J Z Machtech (http://www.jzmachtech.co.uk) and Weltmeister (http://www.weltmeister.co.uk/) do menu pricing for the 964. I've also seen recently in another post that some (if not all) OPCs are offering 50% discount on labour rates for cars over 7 years old. That might make a big difference.

We have a lot of 964 owners much nearer to you (including Register Area Reps) who can give you more detailed information about who to use.

Regards

Dave

Colin -whatever you are quoted, double it to cover 'unforeseen eventualities'.

no - just a realistic take on it. I reckon on no change from £1500 once a year, even though the basic work is about £400. Mel is spot on with this if you are going to maintain the car properly.

£400-500 for servicing per year and perhaps another £500 for unforseen events then there is the upgrade/maintainance addiction-yes about £1500 per annum

Then there are the tyres

:)
