Servicing for 987S - Independents ??

Not sure how much response i'll get, as there seems to be very little activity in this particular forum, but here goes..

My 987S is due its 3rd service, 6years old, 27k miles..

I know its a 'minor' service, but addition of v belt change and brake fluid (again), which based on OPC Cardiff fixed pricing looks lie £480 for the service, a silly £150 for brake fluid and nothing quoted for belt change (but would imagine £100), so £730 all in !!

So other than a trek to Ray at Northway in Reading (who looks to be around £340 for the same, or better ?) are there any other good reputable (ie any future buyer would recognise the stamp in the service book !) independents in Mid / South Wales.

I'm now based in Abergavenny, working in Newport , and the car is out of warranty.

Let me prove you wrong [:)]

I had mine serviced by OPC solihull - I spoke with Des who is great at 'deals'. They definitely have a lower workshop rate for older cars.

They did a 12k service with brake fluid change for less that an indy.

Could be worth a call???

Cheers, Lee

Thanks for the reply - will give the OPCs a call to see what they can do - its 2 hour drive for me to Northway.

Hi 'Black',

You could try Worcester Independent Porsche Specialist. Dominic Delaney

Rushock Trading Estate, Droitwich. Alittle nearer for you...................John

Thanks John,

sent in for its MOT today, which it passed with flying colours (hardly surprising given its 995 miles since the last one [:(] )

Think i'm going to stick with Northway, seem to be well regarded and a more recognised name on the service book than other suggestions in S.Wales and here. A bit of a trek but i know three people who've used them repeated and had excellent and honest service.
