Servicing in Newcastle

Anybody know where's good to get a service in the North East?

I need a 12K Service, plus Fuel Filter, Belt Tension and Coolant change.

Tom Ferguson has quoted £470 (I haven't asked for PCGB Discount - anybody know if they give it?) Is that a good price?

I also got a quote from JCT600 last November for £270 for the 12K service, and £30 for the Coolant change all in. I've just rang them today and they've quoted £570 + VAT. So they can p!$$ off[]

Help greatly appreciated!

As you have been using them for 5yrs I was wondering if you have any pointers.

Have had no problems with redline just say to ethere Simon or Darren that Mr ford recomended you I may get a bit of discount next time I take one of the cars in

Well I have finally got round to posting my short narrative on RLR....apologies for the delay but I ahve been on a bit of a world tour of late, Baghdad, Pakistan and then back to Baghdad...

Since my last post my car has been into RLR twice.

First time, full service (12,000 mile) new brakes, disc's, wheel aligmnet, wheel refurbishment, suspension and finally a full paint job. As the plumb that I bought it from had it resprayed by his mate a house decorator i think and it had began to lacquer.

I then had to put it in again as the paint on the mirrors was very orange peely!! Like it was not thick enough, so it returned for a free respray and then as luck would have it my rear plastic 'window' started to come away from the roof and needed repairing and someone in Newcastle (thank you) smashed my front bumper....

So i have parted with just under 5k in total.

So the long and the short of it is that RLR are very good all the work is first class and I intend to put the car into them again next month as I am going to sell the little baby and perhaps move up I am not sure. They now do a collection delivery service how far from Thornaby I am not sure.

If anyone wants any further info on them, just let me know.

I also had a dyno test at RLR recently and they lent me a nice new corsa to run around in and nicely cleaned my car prior to collection.

The top edge was starting to come away...the stitching was going. they sent it to there interior people who, restitched it and then glued it into place. It is a lovely job and looks good as new.

RLR charged me 100 quid to pick up my 993 RS from Newcastle. I thought that was a lot, so I picked it up myself when they had finished working on it.

To go back to the original question, I've always had my cars (Porsches and others) looked after by Darren Brown Motors (Specialist Cars) in Ryton (North of Newcastle).
Always been happy with work they've done. Very knowledgable and pleasant and sensible invoices.

Tell them that Colin Barratt recommended you and that you are a Porsche Club member (you may need to show your card) and you will get 'preferential' rates.
