Servicing in West Sussex or Hampshire?

Big Les

New member
The last service I had was at Camtune, but now they've moved to Byfleet it just too far to go from me here in Chichester. Are there any indies that can be recommended in West Sussex or East Hampshire?

Many thanks.

I was going to suggest GT-One - but they are about the same distance as Camtune, being in Chertsey...

How about Parr in Crawley?

I have used Sussex Performance Cars in Horsham for the last two years. They have always done a good job for me at a fair price. They also prepared and raced their own 944 S2. However, I have tried to just log on to their website with no joy, a bit of further searching has thrown up they are now SPC Horsham Ltd. I have phoned and spoken to them, it seems there has been a bit of a shake up, new owner, staff etc. They could probably still do a good job for you, I just can't personally vouch for them under their new guise.

I might try Cayman Auto Services in Dorking next time.

I too am in Chichester and used to use Andy at SPC in Horsham for my 944, but as per the previous post he seems to have sold up. Used Parr in Crawley instead this time - thought they were fine though not particularly cheap. Cost not dissimilar to what I'd pay Mid Sussex Porsche which is the OPC I take my 911 to for the same amount of work. i don't know of any one else closer.

Interesting thread as it's where I'm based now and I'm hoping to bring the S2 down soon.

Has anybody used Carrera Performance near Horsham for our cars? I was there to talk to a nearby bodyshop no long ago and they had plenty of very tasty looking 911s sitting outside but no front engined cars.

Thanks for the replies - it seems there is no one local so a trip to the Horsham/Crawley area looks likely.

I did use the guys in Horsham when I first bought the car, they quoted about £400 to do the timing belts but when I collected the car I was presented with a bill for over £1000! They claimed they had quoted me for the wrong timing belt kit, and as mine was an S2 it was more expensive. I also found extra cam cover studs left in the channel at the back of the bonnet. Never been back since. Maybe now there is a new owner they might be worth trying again, but I think I'll see what other people think of them first.

I found Camtune superb - great service and they charged what they quoted. Are they now an official Porsche dealer?

I like your stable of cars Nick Gardener - no doubt you take them up to the Goodwood breakfasts!? I'll look out for you. A pal of mine here in Chichester takes his red Ferrari up there.
