Servicing - JMH Automotive in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire

9000 rpm

New member
My Targa's next service, the first in my period of ownership, is due so I'm looking to identify possible indies to do it for me.

The nearest to me is JMH Automotive in Holmes Chapel. Does anyone know anything about them?

http://www.j-m-h.co.uk/

They've quoted me £265 plus VAT (including parts) for the service, which is £110 less than Sports and Classic, my next nearest indie and one which is recommended to me by a 996 C4S owning friend.

If money was no object, I'd go with the recommendation but £110 is a fair saving if they're reputable and will do a good job.

Anyone.....?

Hi.

Although recommendation can sometimes turn around and bite one in the butt, as you are in Cheshire, why not give ninemeister a call. They are in Warrington, I personally found them very helpful and knowledgeable recently,if you call them, speak to Robin.

Cheers

I use JMH in holmes Chapel and have nothing but praise for them. So far they have done brakes (less than half the price of OPC),fitted my PSE with switch, fixed the rattling suspension that the OPC tried to do twice and couldnt and other stuff I cant remember. They are great. They DO have the diagnostic stuff or borrow it as I have seen it. Jason is very proffesional and nothing is too much trouble. I will definatly be using them for everything in the future except regular servicing as I want the OPC stamp.
Plus its like a playground in there-Lambos' and Ferraris' all over the place. Oh and there are always 993s in there too. He is also capable of re-building engines that have failed too.

Thanks. I'm aware of Ninemeister and their top notch reputation but they're a fair old way away from me (I'm only just in Cheshire, on the southern edge of the county) so it would be a bit more hassle for me. Not so much that I'd discount it but there are other options closer to home which would be easier.

I might e-mail them and see what they charge just in case though. The fixed price servicing link on their site seems to be down.

Thanks for the standard questions to ask, Maurice!

Definitely find out what they are doing for the money. I had my car serviced last month, each place I rang had a different idea of what was required. Use Maurice's list but also worth checking if they change both oil filters and also pollen filters.
