Servicing

Help is needed as my 993 needs a 48k service. Who should I use as I don't have a particular preference for Nottingham OPC if there is a good independant in our area who comes with a recommendation.

I've always used PCT in Coventry who I find are very honest and genuine Porsche nuts. Dont confuse them with Autobahn who operate from the same building but are a completely different company.

or Chris Sargent at GCR in south wigston - specialises in air cooled porsches an looks after a lot of RS's and Porsche race cars...knows his stuff.

Jason, do you have the contact no. or web site for Chris Sargent?

Edited to add:
Just found it myself, GCR Central Ltd, 0116-278 0900
Address: Unit B/Draper Distribution Centre/Wilson Rd, Wigston, LE18 4TP

cheers guys, appreciate that. I've call PCT and I will have a chat with the others. Has anyone used Porsche Tech at Shirleys garage?

I have used Porsche Tech at Shirleys in the past. Very good service, just doesn't look that way upon arrival []

uumm prior to me buying it my 964 was seviced/looked after by Shirleys...lets just say if its an example of their long term care then i wouldn't use them.

thankfully its not taken much to put it right.[8D]

actually i take back my recommendation for zentrum....

well at least untill they have finished re-building the engine for my 356C, then serviced and got it through it MOT then serviced all my other cars and got them through their MOTs..

and im sure by then i'll have bought something else to keep them busy[;)]

Hi all,

I've used Zentrum in Nottm for the last 16 months and rate them very well. They know their stuff and will give you an honest opinion, including trying to talk you out of having work done as they dont see it as necessary. Even gave me their mobile number and said to call em over Xmas and New Year if recent problem raised its ugly head again!!

Heard poor reports about AMB in Mapperly but no personal experience.

Regards

Craig

My Colleague at work uses Zentrum to look after his 996 C4 Cab.Nothing but prasie for them. The owner used to work for the OPC in Notts along with his other mechanic.

He even gave advice over the phone to my colleague this week as he couldn't get his to start. Went home, did what they said and he was in it today. Flooded the engine by the looks and the solution was to remove all the fuses to do with fuel (Fuel pump, fuel injection etc) the turn it over till it almost fires. Put fuses back in and away it went. Saved him a transporter to get it there plus labour. I'd say that is a good service.

Steve
