Settings of Gaz Gold

Hi there,

how low and hard have other users adjusted the GAz Gold coil over set?
Just installed mine and would like tro have rough guideline for for the set up. I am running 17" 7" & 8"wide wheels.

Cheers

Niels

EMC set my 924 turbo up circa 65mm lower than standard (appreciate this means nothing for a '44) and 26 clicks from soft to hard. Believe there is 40 clicks in total. Rides very low circa 100mm of ground clearance and very firm. Perfect for fast road and track use. Crap when doing 30mph on potholed roads.

Below, the difference versus a stock 924

I know, a blatant excuse to pop up another photo!! [:D]

Looks fantastic (sorry don't know your name?). I do wonder if the wheels would look better painted? Or perhaps swapped for some fuchs or teledials?

It needs forged discs (Gullydeckels IIRC), in my opinion. Didnt the Guards & Alpine car in the poster have Discs?

Dear CarreraRSR,

always nice to flash such wonderful pictures - like a lot!

I feel never the less somewhat confirmed that our crude guestimate is quite good and on the road it feels nice too :)

Best regards

Niels

I also forgot to add EMC also gave the car a nose down attitude of 10mm v's rear. Not sure where that measurement is taken from though. I have softened the car a few times and although nicer to drive at slower speeds over rough roads its left wanting when I start hustling it it along in the twisties.

Ben, I was the guy trying to persuade you to sell the bolt on turbo badge panel last year. Thankfully I found another.

I'm not too sure what to do on the wheel front. The brochures and video of the day had the Spiderwebs for Euro cars. The 928 style 'dust bin lids' were a favoured option for the US. Tempted by Fuchs but £££'s, not so much with Teledials. There is a shortage of 1980 wheel styles. Either too 70's or too late 80's/90's. Also need to loose the stock rear 20mm spacer used with these wheels and use thatspare offset to good effect with a deeper lip. Needs 7'' front and 8'' rear.

regards

Steve

My S2 on standard D90's has all 4 units set at 10 clicks out of 20. Advice is to click up the rears to 15 for track work.

ORIGINAL: GC8

Gullideckels. They were an option on European cars.

Not so sure of the 'manhole covers' or as the yanks call 'em 'dust bin lids'

Although my car is now sporting the additional red pinstripe

Lovely machine CarreraRSR, the roll cage looks very familiar.

A tidy two tone turbo would sit in my dream garage..., right next to a Carrera GTS Club Sport. [8D]

My gaz gold set up cost £1500 vat inc. This was to fit new shocks all round, corner weight and full geo set-up for track work.
