Imagine...

Busy junction, long que of traffic I'm turning right. A car in the que waits for the traffic infront to move foward then waves me out.
I nudge out and check left for traffic, its clear. I go to move off........

Bang! Motor scooter kid whose been bombing up on the inside hits my front bumper and crashes. Hes' fine but has pushed my bumper in a bit and along and squished in a bit of the wing that surrounds it.

Why do bikes think they can do that. Stationary traffic opposite a junction its not hard to work out is it.

I've got a long process of filling in forms and ringing people in call centres ahead of me.

Pity me...... I've ony had the car for 2 weeks. Lucky I had someone with me and i managed to get him to sign a statement that outlined the conditions of the accident and our respective positions so that might help.

11 Years of problem free driving and one twat on a bike that thinks theres two lanes and its all over.

I'm a biker and from what you said it sounds like this kid was being a complete twonk. []

Hope you are able to sort the insurance out OK without much more trouble.

If you want my pity then you've got it [;)]

Sorry to hear that - especially with a new car. Glad nobody was hurt, of course, but I can imagine some primal "must strangle the kid" reaction would have been at the back of my mind in that situation.

Even thou its a junction even thou the traffic had stopped my insurance company thinks its going 50-50.

Oh well bye bye £300 excess. Thanks god the policy was classic car and only cost £483.

On a lighter note I've put some new rubber on the front and the power steering rack is being reffited today only cost £317 inc VAT for reconditioning the orig rack and fitting etc. So I can enjoy the car over the weekend.
