thank god I managed to get the old girl started again today after 4 weeks of non running.

I left her with very little in the tank for several weks without use. Next time she would turn over but wouldn't start .
Tested everything and everything tested A ok ?!

I put the battery on charge for a few hours today because all the attempts at starting had knocked the battery for six.

Turned her over and got a very reluctant cough and splutter so I just kept the starter going until the revs had built up enough and she just caught enough to continue firing on her own. Sounded like she was only running on 2 cylinders really really rough. Then noticed that I had left one of the plug leads off where I had attempted to remove a spark plug.doh!
Popped the lead back on and a noticable improvement.

Just left her on 3000 rpm and gradually after a few minutes she cleared her throat and settled to a regular smooth running. I suspect water in the petrol tank ? left for a few weeks with just a gallon in the tank I reckon the water seperated and got drawn up to the filters and injectors

Took her to the garage filled up and then for a blast around the country lanes. god i love this car . I really missed her
 
After the hassle I had with my 924S and its unwillingness to start I suggest checking the rotor arm. Mine was well and truly cream crackered. Replaced and the car was back running better than ever. Not a cheap part (as far as rotor arms go) but worth checking it nontheless

Good to read. What was the initial problem? It wouldn't start anymore?

I took my S2 out today after a week of sorting niggles I had kept delaying for one year because of doing silly things on turbos instead. Now that it's fully operational again I think I have fallen in love with it back again [:)]
 
it hadn't started for nearly 5 months !
Not been good weather for working on the car outside to be honest. Its so good to be running again . I'm going to be spending some serious fettling and cleaning time in the next few weeks to make up for 5 months of neglect.
You are very lucky to have both of the best 944's I have never driven a turbo. It must really be something.

Enjoy.... I shall really miss you guys . I'll pop in from time to time to see how you are all doing but I shall not post here again until attitudes of certain selfish members change or there are some clear and unequivacal rules posted about non member useage of this forum so that certain members cannot throw their weight around and lord it over non members.
 
Well done on the repair Peanut! Please don't leave though, you've helped me out loads in the past!
