She Won't Start

Got into the 993 this morning and she won't start!!

The engine wouldn't turnover and when you turn the key to engage the starter motor you get a horrible clicking noise.

It doesn't appear to be a flat battery as all of the electrics come on although if you put the air con this is enough to cause the stereo to go off.

Has anyone got any ideas - is it likely to be a DME relay problem? Appreciate anyones help.

Whenever I have had that clicking noise is the past, it has always been the battery at fault (i.e. charge too low). The battery may still appear to be OK on some things like interior lights but in such cases won't be able to do its hardest job, that of turning the engine over. (The clicking is most likely the solenoid trying to engage.)

Ditto! Been there too. Battery may well have enough juice to run some electrics but it needs a pretty big kick to get the engine started.

Cheers for the answers - I can't get up to the garage until the weekend so I'll give it a try then.

I'm having some RSR Mufflers fitted next week also so the mechanic can check the battery see if it needs replacing.
