A brilliant day. Everything seemed to go like clockwork. However, I know this is down to experience and that a lot of work was done by many willing helpers. The food and catering was especially good and it was much appreciated.

Thanks so much for making me feel very, very welcome to my first Dorset region event. I will be back for more.

On Sunday we assembled for our annual summer meet at Sherborne Castle, we had 45 cars onthe stand including Chris from Cornbury House whose main roll was to sign up new members (52 including Weymouth Porsches on the Prom). At 1215 we sat down to a salmon pasta salad or hot lamb tagine or lamb and chorizo casserole. It all went very quiet while people ate thier food some coming back for 2nds and 3rds, my wife Josphine actually catered for 80 people, all cooked on camping stoves. Then Sally Ferry and Maria provided maranques strawberries and cream for pudding. Then in the afternoon the other ladies provided a mass of cakes. The Porsche family picnic as usual was just as every one expects good food brill people and of course the cars.

Good to read of another successful event - well done all !

Whilst U delighted parking in the pleasant surrounds - so amply enhanced by that envious fare (again) - U will be probably unaware of the 'miles' of queuing traffic on the feeding routes. - an extremely popular Event.

U could ask "Why weren't U there then ?

Sadly it took too long to progress into site ( half way back on dual carriage way from Yeovil ( well almost !) ... but then we were visiting Sherborne - maybe U were unexpected

Because this event is gaining in popularity every year and of course the great weather, is why we advised everyone at the last meeting to get there from 8 to 8.30. Apparently there were a couple of broken down cars, not Porsches, adding to the traffic woes. You should have persevered because all the other members managed to get in by 9.30 after queuing for 30-45 minutes.

Geoff -

Post rudely curtailed by an unexpected early call to visit Medical Centre - thus not quite completed as wished !

Had not sought to join display team ( as not booked in) - merely a drop-by attendance , - a later morning visit - to take in the Show and offer some support to R26 hard working weekenders.

As with many good intentions - the volume of traffic and delays - did not permit fruition ; the thought was there ! Glad to learn of another successful gathering for you - or should it really be - U in Sherborne[:)]
