Hi guys, this is a follow up thread from my original post;
https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=993361
Since this thread I have had to playing the waiting game as the Porsche specialist dealing with my car obviously hadn’t anticipated the extra work.
The engine was running well after the head gasket work but sadly coolant was still leaking from the expansion bottle after a short run. She was also running hot.
I had a few options but started with the cheapest, the removal of the thermostat which perhaps helped a bit but issues still persisted. A coolant flush and check for leaks etc made little or no difference.
Eventually I had enough money to replace the radiator, I wasn’t all that hopeful after some of the investigations. It turns out the rad that came off wasn’t performing well at all and in short, my car now runs a lot better. The temperature reading when cruising along is now perhaps a little over ¼, sometimes nearing 12 o-clock. The fan kicks in as it should and she has regained power due to the work on the head etc. I am immensely happy about this but it has set me back on my other jobs I had in mind to do.
Since having the car back from the garage, It appears the odometer has stopped working, although the speedo still works. The other new niggle is the stereo stopped working, I guess it could be just a fuse?
Apparently I can replace the gear inside the clocks with this?

Has anyone had to do this here? I would like to repair rather than replace.
Thanks to all who gave some input on the thread before, It did give me some ammunition when talking to the technician at the garage.
