She's back!

Picked the car up this morning, interesting transformation. [8|]

Four re-furbed calipers, new discs and pads all round, new braided hoses and lines, and plenty of seals, nipples, bolts and gawd knows what else. RPM thought it was about the worst case of plate lift they've had to deal with. Explains the 15MPG over the last few months, then. I'm guessing that, as the car hadn't been used much since September they'd gone from bad to terminally seized.

I was totally underwhelmed by the S2 brakes, and just assumed they weren't much better than the Lux. In fact there is a difference. How much will have to wait until it's all bedded in, but I'd say it feels massively more confident under braking than the Lux ever did.

Not really noticed much difference from the all-new ARB bushes, but then I had the dogs in the car so wasn't cornering at any speed. Add in new handbrake shoes, indicator stalk and fixing a broken front foglamp and it's a different car!

[;)] Looks like I lost the record for worst plate lift at RPM. They had to send mine away to get cold chiseled out. On another note, I picked some parts up today from Reading OPC - some lucky customer has reserved an awesome looking white 911 GT2 RS.

Mine went away, and there was a "sundry welding" extra to get the bolts out. []
