For those who wish to attend this event 12th August, please let me know if you will be attending, or will be attending and also wishing a trial flight.

There is an arranged talk on the history of the airfield and how it was a base for glider flying during WW2. There will also be a tour of the airfield.

Further details can be found at http://www.shobdonairfield.co.uk/

I have arranged to be there for 1100hrs, for those who wish to travel as a group, we could leave Cyfarthfa Retail Park, Merthyr Tydfil CF48 1HY at 0930 hrs.

One of the flight instrutors will be Geraint Thomas who used to be in aftersales at Porsche centre Cardiff.

Hello all
I received the above e mail from Shobdon Airfield this morning , I posted it here as it may be of information to those of you who are going to be visiting on the 12th , Please realise that the airfield will be extremely busy and I would advise you to be very cautious as a large amount of aircraft will be moving around , and allow plenty for time to order your food / drink as the cafe is always packed , there is seating outside but that is also fills up quickly on ordinary sunny days even when there is no event on .
Regards
Bryan

thanks Brian for the information. I have added your information to our R14 FB page

Shobdon Visit 12th August.

I have been in touch with the Shobdon airfield to confirm I have the possibility of 15 people attending including some maybe's. I informed them we will be there by 1100. I know some of you are going directly there, but those who wish to go together, we will be leaving the Merthyr retail park at 0930 prompt, there will be no waiting around. Fingers cross, hopefully the weather will be dry.
