Should I or Shouldn't I

My Boxster goes into the body shop on Monday to have it's bumper sorted after someone at work reversed into it..... Needs spraying not replacing and it's a rather expensive job at £711 thankfully I'm not paying.

I also have a small scratch that can be dealt with on the rear quarter for £320 which could be done at the same time. I would have to pay for this but will I see any benefit in getting it done come resale or px time?

£320 for a small scratch? That's never worth it...I'm sure it could be done for less than £100 with Chipsaway or the equivalent.

Frankly I'm surprised they didn't insist on a new bumper+respray seeing as it was an insurance claim...I had a 1 inch scratch on mine a few years back, claimed on insurance, and they insisted on a new bumber and respray at over £1.4k, when I could have had it done privately for less than £150!

Hence the extortionate premiums they come up with each year ... Personally I would have stuck with the £150.00 option and slept easy knowing I was helping to save the planet just like our masters try to do at every opportunity NOT![]

Robert,

It was worse than that.....it was an old lady who knocked into my car as it was parked, and she stood there for 30 minutes waiting for me so she could say sorry and give me her details....I felt terrible...I'd rather have paid for it myself (especially considering the Porsche bodyshop sent a drunk guy to pick up my car - later sacked, and the paint job was awful anyway)!
