Should porsche bring out a new model

Who could resist a car with a shape like the GT1 and performance to match? Not that I could afford one myself but I don't like to be selfish.

I agree with the sentiments but don't Porsche already have one..?ORIGINAL: DelbertW
When an R8 is termed a Supercar and a 911 as a Sportscar then Porsche should take note.
The GT2 and Turbo? or is the terminology different for them?- I'd certainlly have them in if not above the R8...

Mind you I couldn't afford one and would still aspire to a 911 Turbo

But can a 911 derivative keep the mantle at the top of the supercar pile.
While I view the GTR's time around the ring with a bit of suspicion, should cars like this be anywhere near Porsche's top line models.
For me, a road going GT1 would be perfect. Retains a (maybe tenuous) link to the 911 (which the Carrera GT never really managed) with all the dynamic advantages.
We should start a campaign !
The CGT was IMHO the last good looking car Porsche designed so it would be nice to have something that looks very similar.
By the way, I would personally categorize:
Porsche Carrera/GT3 - sports-car
Audi R8 V8 - sports-car
AM V8 Vantage - sports-car
Porsche Turbo/GT2 - super-car
Audi R8 V10 - super-car
AM V12 Vantage - super-car
Lambo LP560 - super-car
Ferrari F430 - super-car
Porsche CGT - hyper-car
Lambo LP640 - hyper-car
Ferrari Enzo - hyper-car
McLaren SLR - hyper-car
Nissan GT-R - super-car killer (but not a super-car)
Generally speaking, approx:
<500bhp and cost <£100k = sports-car
500-600 bhp and costs £100-200k = super-car
>600 bhp and costs >£200k = hyper-car
