Hi
Had a great day out .What a site 75 cars in convoy, with the help from the boys in blue....Dougie and I went round all the drivers and asked for a donation for a drivers raffle with all monies going to CCLASP,unfortunatly the prize draw went a bit wrong and they ended up giving the prizes away to the kids by mistake . I am sure you do not mind as the kids need is greater than ours .we collected £203 a big thank you . Hope someone will post photos of the event .All in all a great day and to see the kids faces was a treat ,even I had a smile when I won 1st in the best car chosen by the kids, must have been the free sweeties that done it[:D] . Porsche members did well in the main raffle Alan Laing won 2 prizes and Chris Holdsworth won 1 Hope you all had a good time .

was indeed a great day, especially for us boxster boys, given the weather!

the kid I had said something quite moving, he said "having cancer is crap, but you get to go out in porsches and do other good things". Was quite humbled by this. He also said that his ideal day would be getting driven to Stamford Bridge (chelsea) in a porsche to see a match, so if anyone wants a longer run.....!!!

I was a really great day out. But where did all those Porsches come from? We're lucky to get double figures at club events!

My kid was actually a teenager called Scott. He egged me on to show him the cars full performance. It is amazing how it will go 0-100-0 in such a short distance. He thought the Boxter in front was getting in the way as the 993 Turbo was infront of that and he gave it some welly when possible.

I gave him some track shots of my car and a book on Porsche and he was over the moon. Kept shaking my hand and saying how much he enjoyed it. I invited him up to KH for the June trackday so he can really see what the cars can do.

Great response from the public on route too.

Funniest thing was seeing all the KH skivers stuck at Kincardine in LOOOOOOOOOONG queues on my way home ;O)

Would be fantastic if perhaps the charity could organise something in conjuntion with Knockhill to allow the kids a couple of hours of track time, id be up for that for a nominal fee.

This event sounds like it was ace. I wonder whether we could do something similar down here (e.g. Children's Hospital in Birmingham), or anyone in London with Great Ormond Street. How did this get started?
