Side Decals '“ Good Idea? Over Stone Guard?

I have a [/i][/b]Crimson Red[/i] 1987 Lux "" great car but dull colour, even highly polished, except on brilliantly sunny days.[/i][/b]

Still sealed in their bags, among the box of history for the car, are the original (I assume? Well, they've got German labels anyway . . . ) white side decals. Whilst I wouldn't use these, I am contemplating getting repros to go along the sills/bottom of the doors.[/i][/b]
[/i][/b] Acceptable or naff? And, if I do, how do I deal with the Stoneguard film in front of the rear wheel arches? It's pretty crazed with age. Remove it or apply decals over the top?[/i][/b]
[/i][/b] [/i][/b] Thanks[/i][/b]

If you mean the large sized decals that say 'Porsche' down the side then I personally don't like them, it's trying too much. The stoneguard stickers peel straight off if you warm them thoroughly with a hairdryer and really should be replaced as they stop a lot of stonechip dmage on an already notorious area for corrosion

Ialways fancied the idea of the black on white "Porsche" logo on side of mine, but never seen one done, so not sure what it would look like on such a "curvy" area as the sills / front of rear wings. anyone got any pics?

Its quite a retro look and I do like them on square dash 944's (and 924's for that matter). Not so keen on them on later cars, but at the end of the day its all about personal preference so if you like 'em stick 'em on ! [:)]
