Side Repeaters - Best £14 I have spent on a car

I recently replaced my square amber side repeaters for oval crystal repeaters from Ace Car Parts (I am not affiliated in any way).

For £15 I thought it would not be too much of a gamble if they looked rubbish. I am not one for customising cars but I do think the 993 side repeaters are out of the ark.

The ovals are slightly smaller than the squares so you will need to polish the area before you fit the repeaters. Also if your paint is a flat colour and very old you might get a halo effect due to the fact that this area will not have been exposed to the sun.

The effect on my car is simply stunning and looks like it should have been in the first place. The quality of the parts is good, at least as good as the originals and they come with the bulbs. With a new set of white lenses in the bumper which I bought from Ebay the total effect is excellent. I have kept everything just in case a new owner does not agree.

One of the previous owners of my Targa has already changed the front indicators so the side indicators are the only bit of orange left to be seen. It's tempting to replace those with clear or silver ones to get rid of it completely.

This may be a daft question but surely I then need to replace the bulbs (which I assume are clear underneath the orange shell at the moment?) with orange ones so that the indicator will still flash orange when on?

Great - thanks, Chris.

Next question - how easy are they to fit? I'm a complete numpty at anything even remotely technical/practical but I'd like to think that even I could cope with this......!

Very easy to fit the longest bit is cleaning before fitting the new ones.

Slide the old side repeaters towards the rear of the vehicle and ease the front out. There is a section in the user manual in this. Fitting the new ones is a case of replacing the bulb (push fit) and simply clipping back into place. Whatever you do, do not let the cable slip back inside the wing. I cannot see how you could easily get it back out.

Ditto, ditto, ditto, CHRISCUFFE.
The clear ovals do look right, don't they. That neat, streamlined look to go with the rest of the car.

Having changed the front and side indicators, what about the rears? Is is possible to change these from orange to red?

My car has red rear indicators, and I'm almost certain they weren't like at new, so I assume you must be able to.

carnewal.com is probably as good a starting point as anywhere in the hunt for somewhere that can supply them. I think I've seen them on the site whilst browsing in the past.
