side skirts

hello i have a pair of side skirts for sale. they are brand new, never been painted i have sold my coupe and the side skirts dont fit on the s2 cab. the same side skirts are for sale on the porsche shop web site for £100. if anyone if interested then let me know and i am sure i can do you a deal. i have seen the side side skirts on another car before and really make it look like a muscle car. lets me know if your interested or have any questions

Why don't they fit the cab if they fit a coupe? The cab is a coupe with the roof cut off (literally).

Fen,
I think these may be the box profile sill extensions. The S2s & Turbos have different front wings etc. You know the rest.

I wondered if it was an S2/Turbo vs Lux difference but are they different behind the front wheel? I only know of them being different around the front of the wing and I'm struggling to see how they can be different at the back edge and still meet the same door/sill.

In any case they wouldn't fit Andy's S2 coupe in that case I guess.

If its the square boxy ones I have only seen them fitted to square dash cars, I didn't think there was any difference though. Is there not a difference in the cab sills something about brazing in certain areas or something? It would make sense that changes were made in that area to increase the stiffness once the roof was removed always assumed they were internal though as they look the same on the outside.

I never noticed any difference between the cab and the Turbo sills from the outside. Definitely there is a difference inside as I think the cab has 2 floors.

Anyone seen a turbo/S2 with the 968 side skirts fitted? Do they look right on the 944 without the 968 rear trim?

I'm considering this mainly because they look like they will completely protect the sills and inner wheelarch corners from stones and general road grime. I'm also cheesed off with messing around with the little plastic bits of underbody trim that never seem to fit together properly and make the car look a bit tatty.

Cheers.

If you click HERE then click bottom right word 'bilder' then click on 'min 951 turbo ar saldi you will find a green turbo with 968 skirts.
I like them.

I agree they, do look good. Might be yet one more thing I add to my ever-lengthening 'to-do' list!

Cheers.

There is/was a guy in the Thames Valey region with these fitted they do look good IMHO.
There seems to be a guy somewhere in the Birmingham area who lists these on e-bay quite regularly for about £100 the pair, might be worth looking out for.

Would be good to cover all my rust. (only joking, have to save pennies to sort it. Funny enough I resprayed my friends 356c but I feel nervous doing my own)
How do these attach anyone. No nails?

I've seen some 968 replica skirts that attach by double sided adhesive pads onto the exterior of the sill so no hole drilling required which make the mod easily reversible. You also have to look out for the rubber gasket/seal to prevent them becoming carrying vessels for dirty road water!

I think it was clubautosport.co.uk and they were about £120 a pair.

so does any one want them then??? i have just found some other things that i had lost in the garage. some sill plates, and a fuel pump any offers and i will try to get some pics of these and put them on the post, get a new camera tommorow. and the side skirts are still for sale

I spotted these last night and dropped the seller an email. Aparently these run on the outside of the sill and extend into the door sill and bolt on under the sill where the multi-piece standard trim bolts. They also hook round into the wheel arch thus protecting those wheel arch corners that seem so exposed and suseptible to corrosion - which is the main reason why I'm considering them. They seem OK and would be more subtle than the 968 style trims since it doesn't extend up and around the rear wheel arch.

Oliver - Please put some pics of yours up when available. I might be tempted.

Cheers.
