Side to Side Headlight Adjustment - Is it possible?

I know that panel alignment was never perfect on 944's but one of the pop up headlights has always had pretty poor alignment with the wing, bonnet and badge panel. I have found info on every bit of adjustment apart from how to move the unit from side to side (between the wing and badge panel). I can get the whole unit good and straight with the bonnet, and parallel to the wing and badge panel but the gap is really close on one side of the pop up unit when I do this.

There appears to be a raised area on the inner wing that is shaped to accept the triangular bracket with bolt heads inside the wing and behind the wheel arch liner and this bracket looks to be a fixed size and shape. The tubular section at the back of the headlight assembly looks to be a fixed length. There is also a similar shaped triangular bracket that holds the other end of the tubular section at the badge panel and this has a shim on the opposite side to the corresponding tab on the chassis so there doesn't appear to be any room for adjustment. It looks like there is plenty of adjustment to rotate and align everything but no adjustment to move the complete assembly left or right unless I'm missing something?

I'm sure it's done to death but I can't find anything!

As ever, help would be greatly appreciated.

As I understand it this can be caused if the plastic fitting in the end of the light pod has disintegrated or the spacer washer is missing,
feeling brave remove the light pod and if the plastic fitting is OK then add a extra washer or replace the end quite cheap from OPC,
or just add the triangular spacer to the wing side of the light pod,

I would go with the above and also check where you've put the spacers( triangular shaped things with slots in them for the bolts)
