Side Window Demist Vents

Possibly the most boring question ever asked on this page! I got my first Porsche (997.2 Carrera S) a couple of months ago. There are small vents (positioned on top of the dashboard) angled towards the side windows, but even with the window demist button on there is hardly any air coming through them. I can feel some heat, but I really notice the absence of moving air when I switch the demist off (rather than the presence of moving air when it's on).

Is this usual for a 997.2? My Land Rover Discovery kicks out what feels like 5 times as much air through its equivalent window vents. I wouldn't say I have a mist problem - I'm just keen to know if I should get it looked at by the supplying independent dealer.

By the way, I bloody love this car!

Can't say I've ever really noticed, but then I have the vents on each end of my dash trained on their respective window anyway.
I believe the window button concentrates effort on the windscreen only and overides all the other settings, which is why there's no 'effort' on the little side vents.

Nice car! :) I nearly bought a C2s but I ended up with a C2.
Wee bit different from the Discovery.

I think mine are the same. i.e not much air comes out of them, but I will check.
Yeah and the window button is only for the windscreen.

Stuff I do to keep my windows clear...
I always have heater fan on around half power. This keeps all windows de-misted. If windows are regularly cleaned it also helps. If I have 3 people in the car and its raining, and the windows are starting to mist, I use the Air Con and it keeps all in check. I also keep a check on my pollen/cabin filter.

You could also apply rainX to the inside of the side Windows. They do one for condensation as well as the outside one for rain.....both work really well.

Yeah, I use the external one, it's really good. I've never tried the internal rainX though.

I checked my side vents and yes, there's very little that comes out of them if any.

Leave the Air/con on auto, which still dehumidifies even when not cooling in winter. As for those vents I'll check output from mine next time out.
