Side windows on a C4S Cabriolet

My mate has a C4S and wants to be able to raise the side windows with the roof retracted, having spotted me doing that in my car (C4). I have Smarttop fitted, hence I can do that. He doesn't and doesn't want to spend £200ish as he can already retract and raise his roof up to 30mph (which is the point of Smarttop) as he has the later car.

Is there a fix to allow him to raise the side windows? It presumably involves snipping a wire or blowing a CB.

The way I get round it is to put my finger in the hole where the roof would latch (above the mirror) and hold the micro switch while you raise the windows. Cost you nothing!!

What year is the C4S ?
I have a no longer used smartop that fits later 996 Cabs, from 2004 onwards..
Lets just say it wouldn't be £200

Why on earth did Porsche put a switch there in the first place to stop the side windows being raised ??
