Sidelight blowing fuse (now fixed)

Noticed my rear side light wasn't working, checked the bulb all was fine, then noticed the fuse have blown, replaced it and as soon as I turn the light on, it blew again.
So after checking both front and back, replacing all blubs checking wiring etc I found that with the headlight held in my hand (not in situ) everything worked Ok, but as soon as I screwed the headlight in place the fuse would blow i.e. it was earthing!.

I recheck everything but still have the same problem and am now totally lost as I can't figure out what's causing it, any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers Beaky - now Perplexed of Whetstone!

Hi I had the exact same problem , i found out which headlight was causing the problem and got a new side light bulb holder and everything seems OK . Never really found out why though after all these years of being OK. Hope this helps Ian

Ok problem now fixed, found the wires for the side light had been put the wrong way round, not sure when this happened, so must have been driving it for months in that state Thanks Ian for the reply
