Sidelight bulb has gone

Hi, hope someone can help, i don't have the manual to hand and need to know what bulb to get to replace the sidelight that has gone this morning. Anyone know the part number or better still where to order one cheaply? Car is 2004 Boxster S

Take the bulb out. Go to a local motor factor. Show them the bulb, it will probably cost you about 50 pence.
Nothing special about bulbs in Porsches unless you go to an OPC then it will come in a plastic bag with Porsche written on it and it will cost you a tenner plus fitting!

Cheers,

Do you have litronic lights?

If so the bulb is different, and will cost rearer to £5 than 50p...[]

You can buy one here:

(In my experience, Halfords do not list this - only the "normal" bulb)

Hi sorry about the delay with this but thanks for your help guys.

It's the litronic ones i need so i'll go to local factors rather than Halfords. OPC wants 40 plus VAT (that includes the bulb how nice ;) )

You might find one in Halfords (about £7 I think I saw it for), but the little book they have didn't list it for the Boxster - only the standard bulb for non-litronic cluster.
May have their documents corrected by now though?

I have had great difficulty finding this bulb in motor factors, Halfords etc. It is very unusual and I think I've only ever seen it once in a shop (Halfords [:D])

Easier to buy online and have it turn up the next day [8D]

Been to a motor factors got two for £8.99 :D H6W on the bulb and made by RING so i guess its right.

Anyway followed the instructions i'd seen elsewhere on this forum for removing head light cluster etc and it was an absolute breeze thanks guys!!!!!!

One thing my tool is metal rather than plastic i guess that made it easier.

All working for £8.99 however, as someone else said on a post here, they go in pairs. I'd just done the failed one, tested it ,and the other one had blown too so no spares left for the toolkit :(

Anyway thanks again

Regards Jon
