The Background:
Was driving through a tunnel in the Turbo the other day when I noticed a scraping/rubbing sound coming from somewhere down by the front O/S wheel. When it was finally safe stop about ¼ mile later, I found to my shock, horror and general dismay that the front component of my sidelight/fog/mainbeam lamp thingy had fallen out of the bumper and was being dragged along on the floor! (somehow two of the wires had stayed connected). The glass front had completely smashed, so I had to replace it (along with the grey plastic housing, which was missing two of the four threaded mouting holes!)
The Problem:
Having replaced the lamp unit, one of the bulbs (fog-lamp), a fuse (ditto) and a couple of spade connectors, everything is okay now... EXCEPT that I have no sidelight on that side. The bulb is fine... I'm just not getting any voltage down the (yellow) cable when the lights are switched on. Since this is the shortest of the cables connecting to the lamp, I'm working on the assumption that when the lamp fell out of the bumper, the cable was pulled hard enough to either (a) damage it internally; or (b) yank it off at the other end.
My question, just to hopefully make solving this one a bit easier, is where does that loom (specifically the sidelight cable) terminate, and how is it routed? My free time is next to nil at the moment (managed to fit the lamp during an extended lunchtime on a 'working from home' day [] ) so it would be good to know where I'm looking in advance of jacking the car up.
