SIGMA 3 ALARM

Can someone please explain REALLY simply how this thing operates? Obviously I know how to arm and disarm ( i.e lock and unlock ) but apparently after it has time reset itself you can disarm it without going through the whole lock and unlock cycle.

The manual would appear to be as clear as mud - or is it just me?

Any help gratefully received.

My car has the Sigma M30 alarm & immobiliser, which works very nicely. I can scan the instruction book for you if that's any help, but not sure what the Sigma 3 model is??

Thanks for the offer - I have the manual and I am sure that all the answers are in there but for some reason I cannot get my head round it. Apparently if you disarm the system then you have a period of time ( 30 secs?) to start the engine or it rearms the immobiliser circuit. There seems to be the facility to disarm the immobiliser WITHOUT going through the rigamarole of relocking and unlocking again but I cannot for the life of me make it work. Does your system allow this and if so PRECISELY what do you do to make it happen.

Any help gratefully received.

Ah yes Andrew! I think I can help. Let's say you turn the ignition key AFTER the 30 secs and therefore the little red light has gone out. If you do this, then the engine will not start. At this point, take your hand off the ignition key (do not remove the key) and press the button on the alarm remote. Then turn ignition key anti-clockwise back to the position at which you can remove the key. Do not remove key, but instead, turn it all the way clockwise again and the car will start.

Does that answer your question or am I being thick?

Now that sounds like it could be the answer - will experiment today and will report back - it was the turning it back anticlockwise bit that didn't appear clear to me must be my age!!

Many thanks for the help

Andrew
