Almost certainly a lump of duty on top of that ,unless Eu taxes can be seen to have been paid................Fantastic colour nevertheless

Inflation is here to stay hey!!

I enquired about that car in July 2004 and it was 11.5m yen..which in todays money is

11,500,000.00 JPY

=

50,772.121 GBP

Japan Yen

United Kingdom Pounds

1 JPY = 0.00441497 GBP

1 GBP = 226.502 JPY

A far cry from the amount they are asking now....

140,000.00 EUR

=

95,661.85 GBP

Euro

United Kingdom Pounds

1 EUR = 0.683299 GBP

1 GBP = 1.46349 EUR

If it's real and mint, and Euro Taxes already paid has to be worth near the dosh, Porsche just don't make em' anymore.......

I think the guys at Naito have sussed out that he will get more money by selling to Europe rather than sell locally in Japan. The RSCS prices in JPY is close to the price for F430. I know which I would buy for that price! I'm sure the buyers in Japan aren't that stupid.

Less than an inferior **7g**"S.... no brainer and will only climb ££££>>>>>

You miss the point Mr Tutu. I can see myself going to Tescos in the GT3RS without much fear.

Whilst I agree that the car is wonderful and I want one in that colour quite badly just now it is virtually unuseable for everyday stuff.......me ole fruit cake.

Horses for coarses an all

If I had the money, I would have it in a heartbeat. And it is mich more desirable than an F430 in my book!

I am now rather depressed. I would LOVE that car.

Johnny, would you consider spraying your own car?...maybe costs £5-6k for a decent job and the car would still be useable.

Lee, when is the 97 due...can't be long now?

That is an excellent question. It does cross my mind every now and again. I suppose it all comes down to how much importance you place on originality. I think messing about with colours is fine on standard 993s, or Colin Belton's new range of RS CS replicas. But I'm not sure about real RSs. However, I do sometimes fantasize about getting mine done in Riviera or blut orange. But seeing the signal green car has really got me thinking!

And the thing is......and I hope I am not talking myself into anything here......after the respray the car would look brand new again. Pop some armourfend on it, shiny newly refurbished wheels, all that welded in cage in signal green......you woulnd't be able to take your bloomin eyes off it!!

What does everyone else reckon about resprays?

Johnny, the reason I mentioned it was that knowing your car and the way it has been modified, it would cost a lot to get it back to standard RS spec anyhow.

All said and done if it was a professional job, I really couldn't see it harming the value, particulalry if it is a genuine Porsche colour.......many 2.7RS are in non original colours anyhow....heard of a few that have sold for new owner to totally respray back to original.

With respect to the stripped out interior, I don't see the coloured films being an answer...has to be windows/dash out and paint the whole shell.

So what is favourite Blut or Signal green?.....my favourite is the '70s Gulf Orange colour....best orange I have seen on a Porsche.

Thanks Paul. Always good to have your thoughts on this sort of thing. I agree that if it was ever done on my car, it would have to be the whole shell painted, roll cage et al.

On the subject of converting my car back to standard......well, one major non-standard part of the car is currently being taken back to standard (will tell all when finished, suffice it to say, I ain't driving it at Oulton tomorrow). My car will soon be much more standard/original than it was when I bought it.

I don't think a properly done signal green paint job would take value off the car necessarily because at the end of the day, it is a standard Porsche colour. And everyone LOVES THAT COLOUR! My car is also half the price of the green car above. Someone would always buy it at that price.

Well done mate, book it in for painting....can't wait to see your new look car at Silvertone in July [:D]

Steady on! If you had any idea how much I was spendning on it at the moment you would understand that any respray would be a long way off!!
