Sill drain holes...

I decided to get off my backside and do something productive today, so I've attacked the little rust spots appearing on the rear of the front arch and sprayed S50 stuff into the sills.
Thing is I seem to have 4 drain holes on each side, one at the front a few inches short of the end of the sill, one a few inches before the diamond imprint that shows where the jack point is, one a few inches behind that and another a few inches behind that! I've only read of 2 being there, one front, one back. I'm going to take off the black plastic to get a look at where its draining from - does this sound normal? It had the sills redone last year, inner and outer front Porsche so I'm assuming its something to do with that.

Also how do you know where theres enough in there? I've used most of a can doing both sills, wiggling around the 4ft pipe while drawing it out so it turns and spreads, a few people have mentioned a can a side!? That would create one hell of a mess on the floor, theres enough pouring out already [:D]

EDIT: Theres 6 slots on each side, evenly spaced down the sill about an inch in length that must have been put in by the guys who welded the sills on - pretty smart I suppose, itl let anything out but is protected by the black plastic from anything getting in!

Ok, its 6 on the inner sill area and 4 equally spaced on the outer sill... 10 in total!

The holes you describe sound fine.

As far 'enough' goes, a large can for the whole car sounds about right, so you are possibly slightly over-applying, but that's no bad thing. What is worth doing is poking the drain holes with a cocktail stick or something similar once you are done, to ensure that they are all clear. If they aren't, you risk buiild-up of water in the cills, which would be very bad.

Oli.

Cheers, just wanted that confirming as I've only ever heard mention of 2. I think the sills are ok, I might put my little bore scope type camera down there and see if I can see anything useful. Then on to removing rust from rear of the front wings.......
