Yes they do (not sure from what year onwards - maybe all oval dash cars?).
Mine doesn't have them, though I think they may have been introduced with the 'E' plates; mine just has flashers mounted on the pillar behind the rear windows (inside the car!).

I thought it was an '89 thing but could have been '88.
