silly sunroof

when I operate sunroof to close it goes beyond latching to complete unlatch and allows you to remove it.

normally you have to turn ignition key for the unlatching part.

right now I'm judging when I think it has latched and lifting off button a little early to prevent it going the full hog.

any ideas how to fix?

Lost our sunroof on the back of the low loader on it's way to the Garage to have electrics looked at after being fried by previous breakdown crew ....... with the elctrics fried maybe it unlocked, loaded backwards onto the trailer so would not help the dynamics[:(]

Check the microswitches in the boot, get someone to operate the roof while you watch the mechanism. I would guess the switches have moved on their bracket & are not closing when the quadrant moves past. There are some pictures on clarkes garage.

Mine suffers from that problem once in while - usually after I've opened the roof for the first time in months. I suspect it is a problem with the microswitches becaase if I open and close the roof a few times, it always fixes itself. If you do find the root cause I'd be interested to hear how you fixed it.

I think all these were fried when it was jump started of a 24v lorry the roof mechanism obviously failed with the other electrics .... thanks for all the replies so far .....
