Silver bulbs for clear lenses

I've had my clear indicator lenses fitted for three years now and finally one of the orange bulbs blew. Hurrah I thought, this gives me an excuse to fit silvered bulbs and remove the fried egg look from my clear lens. I popped into Halfords and a couple of local motor factors and none of them carried either the silver or orange bulbs that fit our car (type 382). They all had stock of type 581 in orange but these don't fit our bayonets.

Back home a quick google brought me to http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk who had everything you could possibly want bulbwise. A few minutes later I had ordered a pack of two silvered indicator bulbs in 382 fitting for £4.99. Halfords wanted 6.99 for one silver bulb [:eek:]. Landed on my doormat next day. Very happy [:)]

Thanks for this Paul, I have just fitted clear indicators and a friend pointed me to this site, but I hadn't got round to determining which type of bulb I needed. Now I don't have to...[:D]
