Any members with a really original and good condition Silver Rose, or Rose Silver, whatever [:D], who'd be interested in displaying it in return for a very good ticket deal at a forthcoming show? E-mail me as soon as, please.

The colour is Rose Silver, but calling it a 'Rose Silver' is worse than calling it a 'Silver Rose'! Its a 1988 Turbo S.

Hi Paul,

I have been promised a white 944 turbo SE in concours condition for the AS show.

As Del Amitri sang so well, "always the last to know"....[&:]

Thanks for the offers, chaps, but it seems we're sorted. Communication will be resumed at some point! [&o]

Barry,
Would that white turbo se be MM's ? he is a friend of mine, i have a Black 88 Turbo S (not Rose Silver) and a very nice example of an early 220 turbo dead original in Kalahari if interested.
Although not a PCGB member anymore, i was going to rejoin but prices seem a bit steep.

Stands back and waits for verbal assault !

You shouldnt have to pay a joining fee, having already paid that once. Any M758 is suitable surely; as they werent all silver?

We went to Bicester Village a few weekends ago and the Club discount on our Christmas presents was more than the membership fee. That's not counting the insurance discount, 25% off AA membership, free valuations, PC discounts, specialist discounts, I could go on....

Memebership should be at best free, or if you're canny it should turn a profit. Read the benefits section of the Porschefile and use it!

More importantly, the cars need a Club. Without it we don't have collective power to ensure parts supply, for instance, that we are working on behind the scenes. It's tempting to think that free forums and occasional pub meets are enough to ensure that we can all enjoy our cars with full backup for years to come. Sadly, it's not true.

Verbal assault over lol! [;)]

Oh yes you should! (In truly panto spirit, of course).

Personally, I think you should have to pay a premium to "come and go". I run a small badminton club, and we have a large discount for people who pay on standing order. It's the life-long members who contribute more to a Club than the people who dip in for a year and then fail to renew, and they should benefit. That also counts for those who've quit, then rejoined. Plenty of members pay for years until they buy another car.

Allow me to re-phrase. Having already paid it once I dont believe that the club will charge it again. My reason for thinking this is that I have allowed my membership to lapse on a number of occasions and I havent ever been charged an initial joining fee. I have been told that this was the clubs policy when welcoming past members back to the fold.

If this has now changed then it will make up m,y previously undecided, mind about re-joining.

Thats quite easy to arrange: it just needs a substantial financial commitment. The OEM supplier in Germany will happily weave it, but they have a minimum production quamtity.

AFAIK even Southbound wouldn't commit to the quantities they demand as a minimum. Probably enough to re-do the entire surviving SR stock. [&o]

I wasn't joking when I said recently that I'd take out the plaid interior, fit a nice plain leather one and carefully store the original. It could go back in at some point, or will always fetch good money in the future as the SR will always have a market.
