Dont miss this the places will run out very Quick

World Record of 911s Parade
To help with the celebrations the club will be attempting to get 911 x 911s driving around on the Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone at the same time. It will be a huge task to organise and with the support of all or members the board feels sure we can show the Factory and the world just how dedicated we are to the marque!

We are hoping to attract several celebrities and dignitaries from the Factory to help us achieve our world record attempt and lead us around the circuit.

Silverstone Classic is the world's largest classic car racing festival and the parade lap will be in front of thousands of spectators and the worlds press.

If you would like to be a part of this spectacular parade can you please register your interest by email to Silverstone911@porscheclubgb.com who will be co-ordinating the entries. Please state your 911 model and year plus membership number in your email.

The 3.2 Carrera is the last true 911 and prices are rising, Drive the Icon.

Didn't think there were 911 x true 911's left in the UK. Must be opening this event to those water cooled types [;)]

i am going to be there on saturday only,

Hello Charles, I read today in "Motorsport News" that at the 2013 Silverstone Classic meeting :-
" apart from a full race program the event will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 with an on-track parade "
They also go on to state that "for the first time the event will be advance ticket only with no gate admission tickets available"
So now we all know, I'd better get cleaning my car

I sent in my e-mail & received my reply.

I did ask whether it was just 911s or subsequent models, but I did not get an answer.

Can someone clarify?

Not sure I understand the question, what consitutes a subsequent model to the 911? It is for 911s all of them, whatever designation or era, just has to be a 911.

The 911 model designation ended at the 3.2 didn't it? Then you have 964, 993, 996, 997, 991

It would be a lot easier to find 911 cars including everything up to date than only up to 1989.

I think you will find that all those models are all 911s.

There is something about the 3.2 being the last 911 to actually designated a 911 whatever they really means. The later cars are refered to by there internal model numbers but are still 911s. Some of them are even badged as 911s such as the 964 Celebration, 996 Anniversary and the 991 comes with an awful lot of badges on the back incuding 911.

Charles Could you put my name down for 911x911's @ Silverstone. Thanks Mark Saving - 993 C4S (1998)
