I bought 2 tickets as a PCGB member back in March.

Am I correct in thinking that I can park infield within the PCGB display area?

I'm 'fairly sure' from previous experience that you are entitled to park infield Philip and yes the search engine on this site is next to useless (just my experience before anyone gets defensive) otherwise a great site for club members and those more distant ex-members! [8D] [:D]

Hi Philip.

I have you down for Sunday on the booking details and down to receieve a display ticket so you can join the register parking.

Ian.

Thanks Ian, I presume the display ticket comes from you not with the entry tickets that Silverstone are sending?

Passes should come from Silverstone AFAIK. I got this today:

Your order is currently with our fulfilment team and will be despatched within the next few working days. If you have pre-ordered a souvenir programme you will receive a voucher which you should bring with you to redeem at any one of the programme sales points around the venue. We will also include a vehicle pass for your use which should be displayed in a prominent position on your vehicle's windscreen, our traffic marshals will use this to direct you to the best available car park when you arrive at the venue.

Apart from wondering what a "fulfilment team" do [8D], the bit about "our traffic marshals will use this to direct you to the best available car park when you arrive at the venue." suggests it'll be them sending you wherever they fancy and you having to tell them where you want to go!

Your display pass will come directly from Silverstone (Motion Works) with your tickets. Having this in your car when you arrive should ensure you get directed to the infield Porsche parking where the displays will be.

Ian.

I replied to the Motion-Works e-mail and they confirmed that the pass will be for infield Porsche parking.

I am there on Saturday only.

I replied to the email from Danielle Cox at MotionWorks and they don't appear to have this organised. Perhaps you need to contact them Ian?

Hi Bernard.

No I don't believe you will as only people pre-booking get the pass for the infield display area.

I had heard there might be an additional general parking area for Porsches (member or not) turning up on the day. I'll find out for you.

Ian.

The infield (Register Display) is chosen from the list of cars / members given to us by Motion Works, Silverstone's booking agent.

Hi

I received my pass a few days ago. Unfortunately i don't think my early car will make it (due to engine problems) so I'm going to take my turbo instead however the pass states valid of this registration only so what should I do?

Hi Simon.

You can either explain the situation on the gate and hope they let you in or contact Motion Works and get them to send you an updated pass (they'll probably charge you an admin fee for doing this). Motion Works is the only safe bet as we have no idea how strict the marshals will be.

Saw your postings on your engine woes. Hope it's nothing too serious.

Ian.

Hi If I can get to Silverstone as a normal punter will I be able to get to the infeild Porsche parking Regards Berny.

Berny

I'm sure I heard that those not selected for Register or the 60th display would be directed to an infield display area at Woodcote.
Further to that I think I also heard that all non PCGB members arriving in a Porsche would also be parked along with club cars
at Woodcote.

I don't think Woodcote has infield parking as such, the parking area at Woodcote will be outside of the track perimeter behind the Woodcote Grandstand, to get to the rest of the Porsche infield parking display area you'll need to walk behind the main grandstands and cross over the footbridge in the middle of the start/finish straight or walk the other direction and cross over the track at the main entrance road bridges, (2 off). A bit of a walk.

I hope that's not where I'll be parking.

I'll be showing up in the RSR after all

...after a visit to Fearnsport arranged by Carreraboy Des Sturdee, the guys at Fearnsport gave me a business card and I blagged my way to the paddock in the RS Rep to see the setting up. Fantastic three hours wandering around in the sunshine, even bumped into some old mates from my HSCC Racing days.

Parked up next to what I think is a real RS??? See picture. Also Bonhams Auction RS's were great to see.

I can't make the weekend so hope all of you who can have a great time.

I will attach more pictures after this one.

Richard
