Silverstone Classic 30-31 July

We're definately having a display at this event and I need pre 74 cars for the club display area (which will be bigger than the Goodwood FofS display if you went to that).

Prefer it if your car were there for both days and for the majority of the day(s) . . . but single days are fine.

Please drop me a e-mail if you fancy being a part of this (911@porscheclubgb.com) or repsond to this post. Pretty certain the club will pay of for your ticket (not accomadation, fuel ect mind you).

Thanks
Phil

Phil,

I'll be available for display on Saturday only, if that's OK ?.

I've already booked my ticket, so there's no need for the club to pay.

Cheers

Thanks Andrew . . . . love to have your gorgeous car there . . . . you're in.

After speaking with Robin last night he tells me that Silverstone seem to have forgotten what to expect from car clubs . . . so bear with me on this one, and fingers crossed.

Phil

The Silverstone Clssic meeting takes place on Sat/Sun 30/31st July and the Club has a special deal on tickets. For £20 per person you get a weekend pass and it entitles you to park on in the clubs display area on the infield. The are spaces for approx 50 cars. As this is s 'Classic' event it would be nice to get some Classic Porsche there ( you can see a Boxster/996 in any high street) to get you ticket, Contact Sue at Club Office on 01608 652911. For more about the meeting try the event website www.silverstoneclassic.com

Think the cost has now changed to buy one ticket, get one complimentary (i.e. it's £20 per car) . . . call Sue to confirm (I just did and it cost me £20 for 2).

Here's a copy of an e-mail I'm sending out to my e-mail group - if you want to join the group, please e-mail me at 911@porscheclubgb.com

Hi there . . . .
Silverstone Classic 30th / 31st July:
Well we're definitely having a club presence.
The following bullet points represent the most up to date information available and supersedes any previous correspondence I may have had with you.
- The club has organised special tickets at £20 for the whole weekend (it's most likely that the £20 will be per car with two adults in, but Sue at club office will clarify). Childern under 12 are free.
- The club display will have room for 50 cars, but it's been opened to Porsches of all ages. Obviously 'classic' early Porsches would be better, so get in quick please.
- To obtain a ticket call Sue on 01608 652 911 (would be useful if you had your membership number available). Payment by debit or credit card please. The last day for applying for tickets is Tuesday, 26th July 2005. Sue will send them out on Wednesday 27th July.
- You will receive an Entry Ticket to the circuit and a special display ticket for the Porsche Stand.
- Anyone who decides to come at the last minute and doesn't go on the Display Stand can go on the dedicated Porsche Parking area behind the Grandstands. They will be directed where to go when they buy their entry ticket from the Ticket Office at the Circuit.
- Only people with a special Display Ticket will be able to display on the Club Stand. People who have bought their tickets already from the Circuit 'might' be able to get just the Display ticket by calling Sue, they won't however get a reduction in their ticket prices, and a display ticket isn't guaranteed (i.e. if there's no space left)
- The Porsche Display site is situated near the Scarfe and Goggles Pub in the centre. Apparently you go over the bridge over the circuit, and then left. The Porsche Club Race Trailer will be there, so you won't miss it.

Brands Hatch Register display/parking:
I've had a reasonable response, but still could do with some more. So if you're coming on either day, please drop me a line.
Regards
Phil Johnson

Well I only made it on the Sunday (so sorry for missing you Andrew). By all accounts there were more cars/people on the Sunday . . . we had about eight early 911's, five 356's, a single 914 and my favourite car a 904-6 (not sure if this was the real deal, not it looked and sounded the business). There were a load of later P-cars . . . but they don't count.

Took some nice photo's but my computer is playing up, so can't download them - if any of you took some (of early 911's) please send to early_911@hotmail.com.

Cheers
Phil
