Although PP says its 29th/30th and it should be 30th/31st, does anyone know if there is any Club involvement at this event?

Hi Tony,

Personally I think it is a great idea for the local region to have a presence. I for one (mit family) will be going. Along similar lines, I was talking with Steve Darnell at the BBQ about the LMS series and the possibility of in-field parking. I guess we could approach Silverstone circuit 'as a club' to see if they would be prepared for us to park on the in-field. What do you think? Steve, any comment? Some kind sole even offered to do it for us.

Dave

I'm about to book 2 tickets for the Sunday. Of course if we had a 'presence' then this might not be required.

Unfortunately can't make the Saturday aswell due to other July and regular Saturday events.

I took it upon myself to find out about this (I'm not attending but have an interest in the LMES meet in August, see http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=125684).

The request for parking at the Classic have been passed to the chap organising car club parking - I await word from him. I'll post when I get a reply.

Note - I am not planning to attend this event, so if this does progress any further someone local will have to pick up the reins! Hope I've not landed someone with an onerous task [&:]. At the worst I guess we just turn down the offer (if one is made)

Hi All

I believe that Robin Walker ( Register Director) is trying to arrange for an area for the Club to have a display, together with some parking arrangement. However Silverstone are not too good on the admin front.
I suggest contact be made with Robin to save too many people making different approaches to Silverstone direct. Robin can do this on an "official basis"

Hope to see you all there

Have fun

Paul Kelley

If Robin is on the case then i'll wait to hear for an update.

I can probably lend a hand if necessary, as i'm only 3 miles from the track.

I'm booking in for the Sunday, as i've got a prior engagement on the Saturday.

I have applied, filled in the application form and sent it off, for a Club site in the infield, and have had no reply to date. This means I at present do not know how large the area will be, so can only make vague plans for the weekend. I know that there are a lot of members that want to attend the weekend, and I will announce what we can do as soon as possible.
The dealing with Silverstone about the Classic as they are calling it is ridiculous, I first made contact with them in November last year and recieved the application form when I returned from Le Mans this month, filled it in and sent it off immediately.
I know that R10 R24 356Register and Early 911Register want to be there, any one else?
